Bwlchgwyn in Wrexham has stunning countryside views and walks. This is why our Robin’s Wood, Bwlchgwyn site is a fantastic place for our forest school day nursery and is both our main site and head office in Wrexham.

Park and Walk Information

Head on over to the beautiful national trust centre Erddig and find a place to park on their car park.
From there, rather than heading along to the ticket office, walk through the gate along to the road on the right, (the one which is signposted to Whitchurch). Walk along the road and enjoy the views, the walk will take approximately 5 minutes from here. Follow the signs from there for Nestlings. The woodland we are using is directly opposite a large fallen tree trunk, and close to a lay-by on the right. You will see a big sign upon entering the wood, and there is a very short woodland path which is suitable for prams to get to us. The walk to the forest school site is approximately 5- 10 minutes from the first car park. It is suitable for prams.

Nant Mill, Wrexham

Park and Walk Information

Head to Nant Mill Visitors centre in Coedpoeth where you will find a car park, opposite the river and a picnic area. Facing the river, turn left and walk up a side road, following the signs to Nestlings. There is a small road to cross over, so please take care! The walk is no more than 10 minutes from car park to our Forest School area. It is suitable for some hardy prams, but a sling or carrier for very little ones might be best. You will walk through some beautiful ancient woodland, so take in the sites and sounds as you approach us!

Once you have walked parallel to the river for a few minutes, you will come to a clearing with some carved mini-beasts. From here, turn right and cross a wooden bridge leading to an owl bench. We are located directly behind the bench in the clearing.

Park and Walk Information

Once on Bryn Estyn Road, there will be sign posts for ‘Erlas Victorian Walled Gardens’. Follow these signs until you turn right into a set of gates. As you proceed through the driveway, there is a large, dilapidated building straight ahead. Follow the road/drive around to the right and keep going past some buildings with green doors. Just after these buildings is the parking area. Once parked, you can walk through the main entrance next to the buildings with the green doors. Once inside, enjoy the walk down through the gardens to the bottom, and you will find us there.
